Doug is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and recognized as a Board Certified Diplomat in Clinical Social Work with a private psychotherapy practice spanning over 25 years. He’s served as co-owner and director of a private mental health clinic, as Clinical Director and board member of a non-profit providing support group services to persons living with HIV, and facilitated workshops on grief and loss, LBGTQ relationships, stress management, and terminal and chronic illness management amongst others. While Doug maintains a practice with expertise in a variety of clinical areas, he has a particular interest in his work with all types of relationships and the evolving ways we define our most intimate connections.
As the creator of the “Four C’s of Relationships”, Doug believes chemistry, communication, compromise, and commitment are the keys to success in establishing and maintaining a thriving and healthy relationship.
Doug is the proud father of two amazing and talented children who keep him grounded and provide constant inspiration and heart. In his free time (which somehow seems to lessen as the years go by), Doug enjoys travel, training jiu jitsu, learning to play piano, working on his yard and home, cheering on his favorite team The Wild, and deep chats with his steadfast (and patient) circle of treasured friends.
